Dear Prospective Customer,

With the emergence and rapid development of the information society, the growing threats (industrial and natural disasters, accidents, terrorism) have posed an increasing challenge to public emergency services. Their efficient operation required the establishment of a modern communication network (EDR).

Civil society actors (in the freight forwarding, transport, construction, security and other sectors) face similar challenges. They need state-of-the-art mobile communication systems to increase their competitiveness, efficiency and market presence.

We try to help you achieve these goals with an offer for a Private Digital Radio System.

What is radio?

Radio is the transmission of signals by modulation of electromagnetic waves with frequencies below those of visible light. The classic and most common method today is direct communication between transmitters and receivers. Most of the time, this happens when you see someone “on the radio”. There are analogue and digital solutions, communication through relays. Due to its penetration, it offers a relatively inexpensive communication solution the usability of which is affected by a variety of environmental factors. The greatest challenge is the short range which can only be increased up to a certain limit and at considerable cost. Another problem is that its use may require a permit and may not be allowed in certain places (airports, critical infrastructure).

Networked radio system

Network transceivers – also referred to as POC radio (PTT Over Cellular), GSM radio, GSM transceiver or IP radio transceiver – are in most cases connected to the PTT provider via 3G or 4G mobile connectivity. There are models with Wi-Fi capability which can connect to the service provider directly, even using a Wi-Fi router. Radios using mobile connectivity are equipped with a SIM card which provides Internet access for voice transmission via GSM towers.

What does an IP-based transceiver look like?

Generally just like a traditional analogue radio transceiver. Some types of handheld radios are shaped like mobile phones, while others can function as both a mobile phone and a transceiver. Most of them have a few centimeters long external antenna which makes them work well even in areas with poor coverage where mobile phones with an internal antenna function only occasionally or do not function at all.

Actual range and availability

Our system is part of the Amazon AWS global cloud service. One of the benefits of this is that there are local servers in every country around the world to which the radios can connect. That’s why our registered radios can work from anywhere on planet Earth, provided there is mobile data connection or Wi-Fi-based Internet access available. Another big advantage of Amazon’s cloud service is redundancy. This means that if one server goes down, another will take over immediately. The server network has been up and running in its current form with absolutely no interruption since 2014.

Are there places where its use is limited or restricted?

As network radio equipment is dependent on national infrastructure, the only drawback of the system is that in certain, often unrealistic circumstances, the devices cannot communicate with each other. Examples might include radio communication in caves, mines or closed metal containers. If you still want to use the radio under these conditions, ask our staff for help you find an appropriate technical solution.

How long is the delay of transmission?

Other network radio systems, including even PTT apps running on mobile phones, usually face a common problem:

In these systems, the software channel to the server will be established when the PTT button is pressed. The server will then determine whether you have right to talk over the network and which directions (which members of the talk group) to transmit the VoIP stream to. The reply is then sent back to the initiating radio station which gets the right to talk. This may take several seconds depending on the current state of the network and coverage!

In contrast the server in our system maintains a continuous and immediately responsive data channel with the client radios using so-called “keep alive” data packets. The result is that in the Pannon PTT system you can talk immediately after pressing the PTT button. Unlike other systems, you don’t have to wait for a voice to start to speak and the beginning of the speech won’t be lost. Even if the remote station is in another country, your message will be heard on your partner’s radio in 0.4 seconds. Based on our users’ experience, it’s safe to say that we are the absolute leader in signal and voice transmission speeds.

Benefits over traditional radio systems

As one of our users put it: “In short, it’s flawless.” Even smaller-sized handheld IP-based PTT radios offer the volume and sound quality you need to use it in a moving car. We have a vehicle-mountable design with a closed pressure chamber 4W sound system. The sound coming from a PTT radio of this type remains fully comprehensible even inside the noisiest agricultural machinery. All our IP transceiver radios have digital noise cancellation on the microphone side, so you can communicate smoothly from a car or other noisy environment, while maintaining good sound quality.

Benefits over traditional radio systems

  • Unlimited range. Works anywhere, in any country where 3G or 4G coverage is available or even Wi-Fi access can be deployed.
  • Unlimited number of channels. Additional voice channels can be added at no extra cost.
  • Possibility to make private calls between any two or more devices.
  • Integrated GPS tracking is part of the basic package.
  • Radio communication is free from unauthorised interception or jamming.
  • There is no need for the usual design processes, frequency permits or costly bureaucratic procedures.
  • There will be no “blind spots” or shaded areas either in densely built-up areas or settlements where transmission is blocked by terrain.
  • Free dispatch software to manage group communication and GPS tracking.
  • Extremely easy installation in vehicles and buildings. Drilling, wiring and external antenna installation are things of the past.
  • Price guarantee! Our service partner keeps offering their network radio equipment and related PTT and GPS services at the best prices in Europe.
  • An important part of our business policy is to make Europe’s market-leading radio communications solution available to small or particularly cost-sensitive businesses.

Who can benefit?

Any segment where secure, no-delay group communication is essential:

We have been using this type of radio communication for several years now 🙂

Orders and deployment

As a first step, please contact us by using any of our contact details. We will ask you to identify the communication challenge you want to solve.
Depending on your planned usage and the challenge, we will make specific proposals for the types of equipment that can be used and the setup of the radio network. We will also discuss the details: names of radios, number of channels, channel names, access rights, etc.
Once an agreement is reached on the specific types and number of devices, we will send you a proforma invoice which will include the one-year system usage fee for the radios and the PTT+GPS service.
As soon as the amount of the proforma invoice is credited on our account, we will issue the invoice and you can collect the radios or we will post them to your address (whichever you choose).
After receiving the radios, you simply insert the SIM cards and immediately start using the radios.
You can purchase the SIM cards on your own or request us to obtain them for you.
Prior to expiry of the PTT service period, we will send you a proforma invoice via e-mail. You simply transfer the amount and the duration of the PPT service will be extended by another 1 year.
You have nothing to do or make any payment in the subsequent year, just enjoy the benefits of the PDRS!
